Wedding
Jul 16 2012 05:35 PM So my bestfriends wedding is coming up and I am the the bridemaid. I was happy to find out that the reception will be held at a country club so the restroom will have lockers in them. I already know that I will stock some breifs before hand. I I got fitted for the dress before I became Inncontent so it's very form fitting and very tight. Today when I picked it up from my friends house I got home tried it on and it was obvious I was wearing something. I tried pantyhose but it wasn't enough to conceal. So I figured I needed spanx shapewear. Not have ever had to use shapewear this was all new to me. I figured going to the store would be my best bet and physically tryin them on. When I walked in and picked ou a bunch of choices I wet my diaper really bad but it did not show through to my pants which I was great full for. As I tried on he first option I was surprised how tight they were! I was surprised I didnt have a press out leak. I settled on a very tight very shaping mid thigh shaper because it would cover all of my brief. I knew I needed to change before I headed for home so I found a public restroom at the mall I was at. I figured that this would be a good time to try how the protection would do with my new shapers on so I put them on over my clean breif. I walked around shopping for a little while and found some great deals! On my way out I made a ratel mistake! I bought a large drink from one kiascks for my hour ride home. I got all the way home and was turning down my drive and the urge hit! Luckily I was able to make it the the restroom but just as I was ready to undress I decided that I needed to know if I were to flood would my diaper hold if I was wearing a shaper. I went and sat down and held until I couldn't and totally soaked my diaper and I could feel about 10sec into my void the diaper stopped absorbing. I stood up and I started to leak! I ran to the bathroom Nd on the way leaked the rest of my bladder. I have no ideas. The depend silloutte is my next option but I am scared I will be standing up in front at the church and I will leak. |

Jul 16 2012 09:14 PM Hi NewWetter, Congratulations on being a bridesmaid at your friend's wedding. That's quite an honor and we'll try to help you make it a most memorable day (memorable in the right way!) I'm not big on fashions, etc., but I have a couple of suggestions. Restrict drinking before the wedding, especially avoiding coffee, tea, caffeinated sodas, such as Mountain Dew, and other bladder irritants. Also avoid eating foods you know or suspect will disagree with you. And find out the colors of the wedding, or what colors the dresses in the wedding party will be. A lot of weddings these days won't have the traditional white. You definitely don't want to wear protection with colors that contrast with those of the dresses!! That is, a blue or tan diaper under a white or other light colored dress. A sure way to Disaster City!!! If the light is just right, people can see your protection under your dress. Avoid that at all costs! Wedding dress material is much thinner than the jeans I usually wear! If you plan ahead and ask questions and find out things you can avoid the worst disasters. If you have protection you're most comfortable with, SaminWa's suggestion to put in a booster pad is also a good one. Everyone here does want you to have a wonderful day with this wedding. If you have questions, please ask. We want this to work for you! |

Jul 16 2012 11:33 PM The dresses are white an very short. I tried a silloutte diaper today and it looked ok under my dress. It looked like I had really bad panty lines! So I decided on a wetting test. I was wearing only the depend and a pair of running shorts when the urge hit. I was on a walk. Normally I wear a pair of vollyball spandex when i take walks to conceal my breif but the Silliuette was invisible under my running short so i figured i was ok. As I flooded the diaper was terrible and leaked down both legs!!! I ran home and nobody saw me. No more depends for me. Back to the drawing boards. |

Jul 17 2012 11:22 AM Dresses are white and very short, eh? Well you still have time to plan around that. I guess the Depend Silhouettes are out. From seeing them in the ads and on store shelves, they are kind of peach-orange and would show up under a white dress. Maybe best to get something that costs a bit more and are completely white with no blue wetness indicators, tapes, or anything like that. From what I understand the Molicares are purplish so that wouldn't be good either! Go online and try to get some samples. |

Jul 19 2012 02:42 PM I am in agreement with Princee Pat! You don't have to buy them at a store, just order and have them delivered to your door |

RE: Wedding
Jul 19 2012 03:41 PM I'll go along with those suggestions. Most companies will send them out in a discreet package so nosy neighbors won't know what's coming to your door. If you go this route, do ask for discreet packaging. But in the times I've had products home-delivered, haven't had any problem whatsoever regarding discreet packaging. |

Jul 20 2012 09:49 AM The only probablem is there thickness. And with spanx there's no give or room for the diaper to expand to absorb urine. |

RE: Wedding
Jul 24 2012 09:45 AM I would suggest going on a website like XP Medical or National Incontinence to find a product. XP Medical provides a host of information about the products sold, so you know everything from the dry and wet thickness of the product to the capacity. National Incontinence has a wider selection of products and also has actual photos of the products so you can see how they actually look before buying. Personally, I would recommend you go with a Abena M3 brief. They're not actually thicker than the M2, but have the absorbency of the X-Plus. Failing that, just doing your best to "clear out the system" (Fiber One for the win!) beforehand, and going with something like an Abri-Flex pullup or a heavier Abri-San pad (like a brief minus the side panels) should work. The Abri-San Special is designed for containing bowel incontinence, but I've never used it. Alternatively, just wear a pair of opaque white plastic pants over the brief but under the spanx, and prevent leaks and free yourself from the restriction on color in one fell stroke. Hope my extreme long-windedness helps, and I hope you have a great time at the wedding! |

RE: Wedding
Jul 25 2012 04:49 PM As a last resort, I suppose you could get a pair of spandex shorts with an inseam longer than what you actually need, but in your waist size. That way, it would still hide the brief, but the crotch of the brief would have room to expand and absorb. Also, a brief with standing leak guards (like the Abenas, or Molicares, or basically any high end diaper) will prevent leaks out the side like what happens with Depends. |

Jul 25 2012 07:22 PM ALL good suggestions and I believe you have plenty of time before the wedding to test different types / combination(s) of protection. We have all done this (trial & error), but at least here you are able to get ideas and that is what this forum is all about. Keep us updated on your progress! |

Aug 01 2012 12:52 PM since my surgery I should have no problems with fecal incon and i will just need something for pee. I plan on going wiht a tena overnight pad which i have tried out and it holds a whole bladder and then some. even if I flood. I will just wear the pad under a pair of tight underwear. |

Aug 10 2012 04:48 PM So the wedding is tomorrow night and I am Sooo excited! I have come up with a perfect combo for my incon. I haven't had a bowel accident in a 3 days so I will just be wearing a overnight pad. The pad doesn't bulge and holds a lot. I plan on stocking the restrooms with extras before and changing every couple hours. I also plan on bringing two extra pairs of underwear (I found these ones that are seemless and they are tight fitting spandex material but allow the pad to expand). I also will stock extra panty hoes. Im going to swing by around noon with a backpack and but it in a locker. Since I will only be at the church for about an hour or two and pictures should take only about an hour so I plan on changing as soon as I arrive at the reception. Wish me luck! |

Aug 10 2012 06:44 PM Hi NwewWetter, Sounds exciting! Certainly wish you lots of luck and lots of fun as well. It seems like you have everything well planned as far as your personal needs are concerned. Sometimes you have to scout ahead and it sounds like you've covered all the bases. I think you have an excellent strategy. As I've said before don't drink much before and don't eat anything that disagrees with you. And I think you'll be an absolutely great bridesmaid. Have fun and I know you will! |
