Wearing a diaper at night and getting a good nights sleep

Nov 18 2010 02:20 AM

Does anyone else have a problem sleeping at night if you don't wear a diaper. I find myself getting up at least three times at night to use the washroom. Sometimes I start to wet my underwear before I make it to the washroom. This leads to a very unrestfull night. If I wear a diaper at night, I find myself waking up wet but feeling very refreshed. Once I wake up and start to walk to the washroom I can feel myself wetting before I get there. I find myself putting on a diaper every night now. I must admit that there are some nights, not offen, but some nights I do wake up dry but again, on the way to the washroom I begin to wet before I get there. Anybody in the same boat?

My wife decided for me that I should wear a diaper at night and I am fine with it. She was tired of a wet bed from time to time. They are comfortable, so it is not a big deal.

Same here with my wife, we decided it was just easier to wear the diaper and not have to worry about wet sheets. I still get up and urinate at night but I don't have to worry about leaking afterwards.

I rarely wake up anymore when I wet at night...and I am a heavy nightime wetter.

It was several years ago when I 'decided' to wear full-time when it got to the point where even when I did wake up, by the time I made it to the washroom I was already mostly done. Since that 'decision' and since I found the right protection for me, I've had very restful nights.

I usually wear a diaper at night because sometimes I get the urge to go when I'm half awake so I just let the diaper take over.

Last night before bed time I had a cup of tea. Bad idea, I haven't done that in years. Woke up at 3 am. had to change as I was soaked. Of course I peed into my diaper on the way to the washroom over filling it. Boy what a dumb move that was. I changed and now can't sleep. It's now 5 am and I am on the computer. Hopefully this won't happen again any time soon.

Oh yes - a Dry 24/7 with a bambino quadro booster pad across the front wing is the only way I can get a great nights sleep. Rarely a leak and I sleep on my back, sides, face down, and on my head - I never worry and don't use a sheet protector.

I wear providers choice for my bedwetting and sleep much better and wake more rested. If I wake up at night I don't have to check to see how wet I am, I can just go back to sleep. I think the security of knowing I'm protected and won't leak let's me get much better sleep.

Well, in the last few nights I have been getting the rest I need. I do wake up sometimes but roll over and go back to sleep. I know I'm wet but my diaper holds it in and away from my skin.

I too have found I sleep much better with a diaper on at night. I was getting up 2-3 times a night, now I barely wake up if I do have to go. The diaper holds it until morning. I usually wear cloth with plastic pants over the cloth diapers.

Hey Texan, I don't like cloth diapers as they are to hard for me to pin on. I can't turn my body to easy. I use pull ups. I know that you can't sleep on your side, they will leak. I sleep on a mattress pad if that happens. I always wake up wet. I can't remember the last time I was dry in the am.

I found that by wearing my diapers every night I rarely even wake up anymore. I like that I can sleep right thru the night. I add two layers of plastic pants for added protection.

JimJim,
Just a quick note to say that there are some very good pull up style and velcro cloth diapers available. I'm like you, I don't really like using the pins. You do not have to be waking up in a wet bed. Also if you prefer disposable diapers, one of the more absorbent ones like the Tena Super, Molicare Super Plus and the Abena X-Plus really do well. I always wear a pair of plastic pants over even a disposable diaper. The bed pads do help keep your mattress dry, if you have a leak.

I agree...there are really good pull-ons, like very thick underwear. They do the job. I can't imagine using pin-on diapers. Just pull on the brief and plastic pants and you are done for the night!

In reading the past blogs, I didn't mean just pin on diapers. The tapes give me problems at times. If I put it on to tight in time they pull the plastic and then I can't resecure the tab. I guess for me the pull up (I'm in Tranqulity ATN for now) is doing ok. In my mind sometimes I don't like to expermint. If I have something going ok don't change. Thats me. If you guys like the Tena, Molicare and/or Abena, maybe I should try them. Is there a web sight that has samples for sale? I looked but have not found a site yet.

Yes. I used to have so much trouble sleeping because as soon as I went to the bathroom and got back in bed, I could feel the pressure starting to build again in my bladder. I could barely sleep at night due to anxiety and discomfort. Now I wear a diaper to bed and sleep fine. By morning my diaper is very wet. I can't be sure when if I am awake or asleep anymore, except when I get up to get drink and fully urinate in my diaper on the way.

I am the same as Inconman and Texan, I can't sleep well at all without wearing something, bedpads and waterproof undersheets and all... I would just lay there waiting for the twitch to happen and run for the bathroom. Now I can sleep throught the night, and awake wet but at least rested for the days events. Most nights I sleep so well, I don't know I have gone until I wake up and "it happened again". Wearing takes all the worrys away, as long as it is adequate coverage for your needs, and we all differ there.
