Night time

Dec 28 2011 09:04 PM

I am a 43 year old Male. I wear Depend Underwear (Pullups) which work great in the daytime, but tend to leak at night. I have a Mattress protector, but would rather not change sheets if I don't have to. Any suggestions on night time protection?

You might try heavier weight protection, such as Abena or Molicare; you could add an infant diaper, with its plastic slashed, to your current protection, or you could add plastic pants to your current protection. You might experiment with washables and plastic pants. There is published advice to dehydrate after supper. I disagree with that; if you have reliable protection, let it do its work, and save dehydration for times when it is unavoidable. Experiment with different modes of protection, to discover what works for you.

I have just started wearing Depend Taped Underwear Maximums due to an enlarged prostate, so I'm pretty new (2 days and 1 night) I didn't wet last night but I can already tell from the daytime performance that I'm going to need something more absorbent at night.

the only way you will get any kind of performance from a depend is to stuff it with a size 6 overnite diaper like huggies.

i use molicare, drycare or sometime wellness diapers at nite would never trust a depend for that job.

I would guess that "almost" everyone on this forum is in the same opinion on the Max fitted brief, can do not bad during the day, but not enough protection for at night, not without adding something to aide in the absorbancy level, and leak city for side sleepers, Puffy

I've been trying a few things and the current favorite for overnight is Molicare Super-Plus with a baby diaper as a booster (largest size, any brand) and plastic pants. So far no leaks.

You might also be better off with a bed pad to sleep on as well, as it you "overflow" whatever you are using, it is much easier to deal with, including in the middle of the night... (learned quickly from experience!) Puffy

I've been using Abena diapers at night for years and haven't had a leak yet. I swear by them.

I am one of the lucky few that can use the tape on plastic max protection at night, i use a size larger i.e large instead of the medium i wear during the day, the extra padding on the wings helps, Tranquility ATN work very well but are more expensive
